The small museum is located within the Maa - Palaeokastro site.

Built in 1989, the museum’s original and unusual design is the work of architect Andrea Bruno. It is situated in the Coral Bay area, where the first Mycenaean Greeks settled in Cyprus at around 1200 BC after the fall of the Mycenaean kingdoms in mainland Greece.

The museum traces the colonisation of the island by the Greeks.It houses a small collection of objects, mainly copies, as well as a selection of educational information on the site.
