Sculpture Park Petreon

EXCURSIONS / Sites of Interest / Larnaca / Sculpture Park Petreon
The name of the park stemmas from the material that the whole park is made of petra (stone).

Petreon is the result of 14.000 hours of work.

It consists of a permanent open-air sculpture exhibition, the Liasidion Amphitheatre, the Archontariki where various exhibitions are hosted and a small stone church.

The 8,5 metres high sculpture of Petreos, the man that was born from the stone, dominates over the entire park.

He draws inspiration from events that touch upon human sensitivity and mirror the values and ideals of life. His themes stem from his own personal experiences, everyday life, the wisdom of our forefathers, as well as the mythology and history of Cyprus.
