The beach of Fig Tree Bay, is one of the most famous beaches in Cyprus.
With its clean, shallow waters and fine, golden sand it is very popular with locals and foreign tourists and was voted in Trip Advisor as one of the best beaches in Europe. It is accredited with the "Blue Flag" for its excellent water quality and facilities provided to bathers and holds the title of "Green Beach".
The beach got its name from the fig tree at the back of the beach, which the conquerors from the East in the 17th century brought with them. The islet in a short distance from the coast contributes to the idyllic landscape and it's an exploration point for all ages.
