The dumping of the fishing vessel "Nemesis III" along with the placement of artificial reefs, was part of the establishment of a marine protected area in Protaras ,Paralimni.
Artificial reefs are deliberately positioned in construction seabed, aimed at imitating the properties provided by a natural reef: shelter, nutrition, reproduction, growth and increase in size and number of the population of marine biota.
It is a truly beautiful spot to dive and discover the secrets that lie underneath the surface.

Interesting Facts: The bottom trawler, Nemesis III was built in France in 1956 and brought to Cyprus in 1987. It was sunk in 2013 in order to create an artificial reef with the aim of encouraging the increase of marine life to the area.
