The Philatelic Center and Postal Museum are located in Nicosia within the Venetian Walls in an old mansion near the Laity Neighborhood and opposite the Church of Saint Savva.

The Philatelic Center and the Postal Museum started its activities in 1981. It features remarkable series of Cypriot stamps from 1880 to the present, as well as items related to the history of the Cyprus Post Office, such as scales, stamps, old mailboxes and more. The Museum has been housed in its current home in the People's Neighborhood since 1999 in Nicosia's Old Town, with the aim of better access to it by local and foreign philatelists.

There is a large collection of stamps from the period of the British state and from the period of Independence to the present day. The Museum's halls display periodically stamps and rich philatelic material on the island's postal history from time to time. The main room features material about the island's English Rule.

Here you can admire, for example, the oldest set of Cypriot stamps depicting the Queen Victoria of England and marked with the word CYPRUS, as well as the magnificent first purely Cypriot stamp set of ten 1928 stamps with historical landscape illustrations and with the centuries-long history of Cyprus.

Other rooms of the Museum exhibit first day circulation envelopes and have stamps issued since the proclamation of the Republic of Cyprus in 1960 until today. One can study the historical adventures of the island, the great forms of Cypriot history, culture, tourist attractions, monuments of Cyprus, as well as its contribution through the stamps, scrapbooks and other related material on display at the Museum. island in culture.

Specimens, air letters for secured mail envelopes and special rappers for posting newspapers and magazines, postcards with a prepaid reply sheet are also displayed at the Museum.

Noteworthy is the huge variety of rural postal stamps exhibited and covering the entire postal history of the island. Special stamps for insured letters, postage stamps of urban postal agencies, English camp stamps as well as slogans are also on display. The visitor to the Museum can still see the ways in which a letter or a sack was previously secured (first with seals and later with motorbikes) as well as with various types of mail scales and other philatelic books and magazines of interest.
