Located in Lefkosia (Nicosia), the exhibition traces the development of Cypriot coinage from the first coins issued during the 6th century BC to modern times.

Some 2600 years of turbulent Cypriot history come alive through 370 coins, divided into nine chronological sections and exhibited in 20 showcases.

Relying on high - tech methods to preserve the coins’ quality, the museum is an important resource for educational programmes on the history of Cyprus.

The museum is on the Aphrodite Cultural Route.
