The Museum of the City of Larnaca is housed in the renovated residence and offices next to the first Port of Larnaca warehouse built in 1881.
This museum can be found on the ground floor, with its exhibits tracing the history of the city.
It consists of a large collection of coins minted at the local mint, beginning with the first coin, of the 6th century, of the City of Kition, and a beautiful collection of photographs depicting the city from the years 1850, which is from the more interesting exhibits.
The city's archives are on the second floor and are only open to researchers because they include rare books, publications and documents. The Larnaca Historical Archive, which is now one of the richest archives in our country, has been intensified and enriched to such an extent.
With the renovation of the building, where the offices of the Larnaca Customs Office were located and adjacent to the Cultural Center on Europe Square, the Archive was moved there so that it could be used by scholars, researchers and others.
On the ground floor are exhibits of museum-like materials, and on the first floor is the Cultural Department, as well as the archive of thousands of photographs, engravings, old maps, books, newspapers, documents, etc.
